DZHK provides research funds for jobs for refugee scientists

The German Centre for Cardiovascular Disease wants to offer people who have been forced to flee their home countries jobs in research quickly and unbureaucratically.

The DZHK is following the initiative of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). It aims to help refugees with a scientific background find work within the scope of DFG-funded research projects.

The DZHK has a total of 30 partner institutions at sites in Berlin, Greifswald, Göttingen, Hamburg-Kiel-Lübeck, Heidelberg-Mannheim and Munich. At each of these sites, DZHK is running projects on cardiovascular disease. The DZHK intends to provide funds to top up these projects; the precise arrangements are to be clarified on an individual basis.

The initiative targets not only scientists with a background in the natural sciences or engineering, but also technical personnel. Interested parties who have already been in contact with the DZHK may get in touch with the respective project leaders directly. All others should contact the DZHK Main Office.
