Recent studies suggest that a Mediterranean diet reduces the risk of major cardiovascular events among persons at high cardiovascular risk. However, it is unclear whether in non-Mediterranean countries, diets similar to the Mediterranean diet have comparable effects. Further, preliminary evidence indicates that interval-based vigorous physical activity may be at least as beneficial as moderate activity. The aim of this project is therefore to study in a German population the association of diet, physical activity, lifestyle, and metabolic factors with prognosis of patients with history of myocardial infarction. ↑ |
