The German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK) is launching a new funding initiative to integrate clinics into its study network. From 1 June 2025, non-university clinics can receive funding of up to 30,000 euros for a period of one year. The aim of this funding is to specifically promote recruitment for cardiovascular studies and to intensify the DZHK's collaboration with non-university partners.
Aim of the funding
The DZHK's new funding guideline aims to integrate clinics that are located outside the university environment into the DZHK's study network. The funding is intended to improve recruitment for cardiovascular studies and strengthen co-operation with selected non-university partners. This initiative offers a valuable opportunity to expand the joint recruitment network in the field of cardiovascular research.
Who can apply?
All national non-university clinics that currently have no or only a limited infrastructure for conducting clinical trials in the field of cardiovascular research can apply. These clinics now have the opportunity to apply for financial support to expand their study capacities.
Eligible funds
The funding can be applied for according to the individual needs of the respective clinic. Applicants must explain how the funds are to be used in the context of planned or future study participations in the coming year. Personnel funds are eligible for funding:
- Study nurses or study coordinators (up to pay grade E10)
- Study documentalists (only in justified exceptional cases) (up to pay grade E10)
Application procedure and deadline
Interested clinics must submit their applications by 1 September 2024. Applicants should clearly explain the planned study participation. The selection of funded clinics is based on the number of commitments to participate in DZHK studies that have been accepted by the respective study directors. The five clinics with the most confirmed commitments will be selected for funding and subsequently invited to submit a formal application.
