Eleven scientists from DZHK among the most cited researchers worldwide

Researchers who make it to the list of ‘Highly Cited Researchers’ are among the most influential experts in their field: their publications have been cited particularly frequently by other scientists and they make up the top 1 percent of the most cited researchers.

This year, 6,868 individuals from 60 countries and regions made it into the ranking. Among them are eleven researchers from the German Centre for Cardiovascular Research. Their work has been cited particularly frequently by peers over the last eleven years (2014-2024), an important indicator of significant influence. The award is presented annually by Clarivate. 

Germany is in fourth place in the 2025 country comparison with 363 highly cited researchers.

For the current ranking, Clarivate evaluated scientific publications from an 11-year period from 2014 to 2024. In addition to citations, further qualitative analyses and expert opinions are used to compile the annual list.
