According to Research.com, the ranking is based on the so-called D-index (Discipline H-index), which only takes into account publications and citations within a specific discipline. A D-index of at least 70 in the field of medicine (as of 27 November 2024) and other criteria such as the ratio of publications in the chosen discipline and scientific awards and successes are decisive for inclusion in the ranking.
