The publication "The DZHK research platform: maximisation of scientific value by enabling access to health data and biological samples collected in cardiovascular clinical studies" describes the DZHK Clinical Research Platform, which has been established with the outstanding commitment of numerous people at the DZHK partner sites since the establishment of the DZHK in the past years. The aim was to standardize clinical data and biospecimens across all DZHK studies, registries, and cohorts while respecting and considering the partner sites' needs. Only through the joint goal-oriented discussions of the DZHK scientists could the Clinical Research Platform be developed in its current form. It guarantees high-quality data and samples for cardiovascular research. During the Corona pandemic, the DZHK supported the newly formed Network University Medicine (NUM), in which this DZHK Clinical Research Platform was made available to the NUM and has since been adopted by it.

The publication also provides an overview of ongoing and completed studies to clarify which data can currently be requested.

The Clinical Research Platform is a structure developed by numerous DZHK scientists for scientists. This is also reflected in the list of authors of this publication, which features scientists from all seven DZHK sites.
