Scientific training for doctoral students and postdocs

Young, aspiring scientists need contacts, exchange, professional and non-specialist skills, and financial freedom to conduct research.

Visting Scientist Programme (training)

Get a taste of different laboratory air, get to know new evaluation methods and techniques:
The DZHK finances temporary research stays for this purpose.

Travel Grants (training)

The DZHK supports participation in symposia, workshops or congresses: Our travel grants cover costs for travel to and from the event, accommodation or participation.

Doctoral scholarships (training)

The scholarship enables doctoral students in a DZHK project to devote one year to their doctorate full-time.

Workshops

Workshop series with the German Society of Cardiology (DGK) "Fundamentals of Cardiovascular Research": consolidate existing knowledge and gain practical insights.

Workshops with the German Centres for Health Research: From planning a clinical trial to how to write a paper. Here, topics are covered that concern junior researchers from all six German Centres for Health Research (DZG).

Every year until 1 December, PhDs can apply for one of the places in the mentoring programme and receive one year of intensive training.

Mentoring - fit for leadership tasks

The programme is aimed at doctors, scientists or DZHK science managers who have just taken on leadership tasks or are about to do so.
