Data & Biospecimen

The Clinical Research Platform contains data and biospecimen that are available to researchers worldwide. The data and biosamples are taken from 20 clinical trials, registries and patient cohorts to date.

All trials financed by the DZHK obtain a basic set of biospecimen in addition to any that are required for the study. This forms the basis for the decentralised DZHK biobank that integrates biosamples from all trials. In addition, we record image data from cardiovascular imaging procedures in an image data management system. Data and biospecimen are collected in all study centres using standardised procedures. The data is stored centrally, while the biosamples are stored locally.
